Industry solutions, landing pages and articles on Crysound CRY2623 — Acoustic Camera for Leaks and Partial Discharge
Where it is used
Typical tasks
- Compressed-air and gas leak detection
- Partial-discharge detection in electrical equipment
- Inspection of insulators, switchgear and power lines
Overview
Crysound CRY2623 is the advanced model of the CRY2600 series. In addition to leak detection, the camera detects partial discharges in electrical equipment and builds PRPD maps (Phase Resolved Partial Discharge), helping classify the discharge type and assess insulation condition before a defect becomes critical.
An array of 128 MEMS sensors and a range of up to 120 metres allow diagnostics of high-voltage equipment from a safe distance.

Key features
- Partial discharge + PRPD — detection of corona and surface discharges and internal insulation defects with phase analysis.
- 128 MEMS sensors — precise ultrasound-source localisation.
- Range up to 120 m — inspection of switchgear, insulators and power lines without de-energising.
- Focusing function — operation amid heavy substation background noise.
- Leak detection — compressed air and process gases.
Applications
- Partial-discharge detection in switchgear, transformer substations, on insulators and power lines
- Detecting and assessing compressed-air and gas leaks
- Preventive diagnostics of high-voltage equipment
