Motor condition monitoring

Artesis e-MCM analyzes a motor's supply current and voltage and turns the motor itself into a sensor - no shaft-mounted hardware. It flags deviations 3-6 months before failure, making it economical to monitor the whole fleet instead of just the 15-20% deemed critical.

months of lead time before failure
Motor condition monitoring

The electric motor is the most common and, at the same time, the most under-monitored asset on an industrial site: hundreds of units, but vibration sensors are physically fitted to only a handful of critical ones. Artesis e-MCM removes that constraint by analyzing current and voltage from the control cabinet - no visit to the motor itself required.

Three levels of rollout

  • AMT Pro - a portable analyzer for route-based surveys of the whole fleet, delivering a condition report in minutes on site;
  • e-MCM - continuous online monitoring of critical drives with a deviation alert 3-6 months ahead of failure;
  • IoT - a cloud platform for multi-site corporate-level reporting across the whole motor fleet.

Electrical monitoring sees what vibration can't: turn-to-turn shorts, broken rotor bars, eccentricity, supply issues. Combined with SDT340 ultrasound (bearing and lubrication control), a motor monitoring program covers both mechanics and electrics in a single visit to the control cabinet.
