Status: discontinued

Artesis MCM (Motor Condition Monitor) was the first-generation panel-mount online motor monitoring system that Artesis sold before moving to the current e-MCM line. The product has been discontinued and replaced by Artesis e-MCM — the current model with an expanded fault-signature database, Ethernet/Modbus TCP/OPC UA connectivity, and cloud deployment.

This page is kept for reference for customers who still operate Artesis MCM hardware (a panel-mount unit with LCD display and keypad, marketed as MCM / MCM Line / MCM Inverter) — for specification lookup and for planning a migration to the current replacement.

Description

MCM was a DIN panel-mount unit with its own LCD display, LED indicators and a control keypad. It connected via current and voltage transformers to the motor terminal box, and data was sent over RS422/485 to the MCMSCADA software for collection and trending.

The working principle was already based on self-learning: on first power-up, MCM built a reference model of normal motor behavior (accounting for speed and load), then compared ongoing measurements against that model to determine the type and severity of developing faults.
