Overview
The Falco 2 is a fixed photoionisation detector (PID) from the British company Ion Science for continuous monitoring of volatile organic compounds. It detects over 700 substances, including solvents, fuels and aromatics, is installed in hazardous areas and sends readings to the control system.

Pumped models respond in under 10 seconds and sample through tubing up to 20 m long. Diffused models respond in under 30 seconds and work down to −40 °C. An 11.7 eV version with a 0–200 ppm range is also available.
Built for harsh conditions
- Typhoon stops condensation forming inside the sensor — important outdoors and in wet climates.
- Fence Electrode removes the effect of humidity and protects against contamination.
- Ex d housing with two M25 cable entries, IP65.
- Status indicator in red, amber or green, visible from 20 m even in direct sunlight.
- Magnetic switches allow setup without opening the housing.

Falco 2 or Titan 2
The Falco 2 measures total VOC or total aromatics (TAC). To measure benzene specifically, without interference from other hydrocarbons, use the fixed Titan 2 monitor. For rounds, use the portable Tiger XT and Tiger XT Select.
